HIV Workplace Policy

Statement of Commitment

ICT Dynamix is committed to maintaining a workplace that treats all individuals with dignity, fairness, and respect. The company upholds a clear position of non-discrimination in relation to HIV and AIDS, and actively works to ensure that no employee, job applicant, client, or contractor is treated unfavourably on the basis of HIV status, whether actual or perceived.

Non-Discrimination

HIV status will not be used as a basis for any employment decision at ICT Dynamix, including recruitment, appointment, promotion, training access, disciplinary action, or termination. Any form of stigma or discrimination relating to HIV in the workplace is treated as a serious matter and is addressed through the company’s disciplinary process.

This commitment extends to all phases of employment and applies equally to permanent staff, fixed-term employees, contractors, and interns.

Confidentiality

The HIV status of any individual is considered personal health information and is treated with strict confidentiality. No employee is required to disclose their HIV status to the company, to management, or to colleagues. Where an individual chooses to disclose their status — for example, in the context of accessing support — that information is handled with full discretion and shared only with the individual’s informed consent.

Employment Rights and Reasonable Accommodation

Employees living with HIV are entitled to the same terms and conditions of employment as all other staff. Where a health condition associated with HIV affects an employee’s ability to perform their duties, ICT Dynamix will, where reasonably practicable, explore appropriate accommodation measures in consultation with the employee.

Such accommodation may include flexible work arrangements, adjusted duties, or other measures appropriate to the individual’s circumstances, subject to the operational needs of the business.

Awareness and Education

ICT Dynamix supports appropriate HIV and AIDS awareness activities in the workplace. The company encourages staff to access voluntary testing, treatment, and support services, and supports a culture in which individuals feel able to do so without fear of stigma or adverse consequence.

Support

Employees who are living with HIV and who wish to discuss their situation are encouraged to speak with management in confidence. The company will, where possible, provide information on available support resources, including government health services and workplace employee assistance programmes.

Legal Framework

This policy is consistent with the provisions of the Botswana Employment Act, the Public Health Act, and applicable national HIV and AIDS policy frameworks. ICT Dynamix monitors developments in this area and updates its practices accordingly.

This policy is published for information. The authoritative version is maintained internally and is subject to periodic management review. For queries regarding this policy, contact ICT Dynamix directly.
